Our crown molding installation video, walks you step-by-step through a full installation, including how to measure for crown molding, with plenty of tips on how to make your project look amazing. Below are some of the key things to remember.
Use Adhesive for a Lasting, Seamless Finish
Apply a small bead of adhesive along the length of the molding on the back where it contacts the wall and the ceiling (watch). Finish nails help secure the molding while the adhesive sets. Most importantly, apply adhesive between any molding being joined end-to-end.
You will need 1 tube of adhesive for about every 6 pieces of molding. Loctite’s PowerGrab or PL Premium work well in most applications.
The Final Piece
Cut the last piece you install on each wall just a little long. 1/16 to 1/8 of an inch is usually enough to allow you to snap that piece in place, making sure all your joints stay nice and tight. This is easiest to do when you leave the last two feet of the previous piece unnailed (watch).
Painting
Our moldings do not need to be primed. Plus, since polyurethane does not absorb moisture, paints that are self-priming
or a Paint & Primer in One
may not dry properly. Standard latex paint is less expensive and will give you the best result.
Be Mindful of Temperature Effects
All materials expand and contract with changes in temperature. For best results, when installing on a hot day, keep the molding inside until you are ready to make your cut.

Warranty Conditions and Limitations
This warranty covers material defects in our polyurethane products when used in standard applications where temperatures do not exceed 150°F. It does not cover labor, consequential or incidental damages. This warranty is not transferable and applies to the original purchaser only.

Unlike a car, not much can go wrong with a polyurethane product since polyurethane doesn't absorb moisture and won't be affected by insects. I was very happy with the quality of the product and the customer service. It looks great in my room. This particular crown is quite large and it is not very flexible. Installing it was very easy enough. It is light and easy to cut and fit, but the seams between pieces were difficult to hide. I had to experiment to discover a method that worked. Caulk left obvious seams because it shrinks when it dries. Spackle looked great at first but cracked after about a week. The third method I tried worked, but I spent a lot more time on this than I hoped. Still, I would buy this product again. The customer service was exceptionally good. The ordering process was smooth and easy. My sense is that this is a company that would stand by its product.
