The Stratford Vinyl Ceiling Tile - White (2x4) is made from a UV Stabilized .013" thick vinyl plastic. It is designed to provide all the functionality of conventional drop ceiling tiles at a fraction of the weight. The feather-light construction makes it easy to install, easy to clean, stain resistant, water resistant, dust free, and resource friendly! Installation is fast and couldn't be any easier.

Designed to fit all standard 15/16" - 1" T-Bar Ceiling Systems. Most of the thermoform ceiling tiles come in two sizes, 2'x2' and 2'x4'.

FYI - If you have a 2x4 grid ceiling, but would prefer the look of the 2x2 ceiling tiles, simply insert a 2' center T bar available online or at most local hardware stores...it's easy!

5 Year ProShield Warranty
The ceiling tile manufacturer guarantees that your ceiling tiles will be free from manufacturing defects for a period of five years from the date of purchase. Limitations apply. See full warranty information below.

UL Listing/Certification
ProLite ceiling tiles bearing this mark are UL tested and approved drop-out ceiling panels that can be installed beneath fire sprinklers. When exposed to heat from a developing fire, drop-out ceiling panels soften, distort, and fall from the ceiling grid. Heat from the growing fire activates the sprinkler which, unimpeded by the panels, controls or extinguishes the fire.

Highlights:
The Stratford grid tile is our most popular drop ceiling tile. Our customers are continually amazed at its ability to transform the look of their room. Its classic simplicity makes it a great option for any type of space. The repeating design of this 2x4 tile gives it the unique ability to create the look of a 2x2 tile, which can be nice in smaller spaces. You will find that it is a great time saver since it will help you cover twice the space in half the time. Being that it is Class A Fire rated, it is an excellent choice for most businesses and homes. We are also proud to say that it is made in the USA.

Things to Consider:
Since the Stratford tile is not flat on the back, it is not suitable for use as a direct mount tile.

While it is only .013" thick, the embossed design gives it the rigidity and structure needed to support itself in the grid without sagging. To avoid the risk of sagging, we discourage placing any weight directly on the tile. If you would like to keep your existing acoustical tile in the grid for insulation or sound barrier purposes, we recommend that you place it above the framework so that it is not putting any weight on the Stratford.

It is more than likely that your room has partial tiles around the perimeter. Not to worry- The Stratford tile lays nice and flat in the grid when cut to any size. Since the recession of the design is only .5", the gap is unnoticeable for most applications. View product images and customer installation photos for examples.

If your grid is already white and in good condition, it should match the white Stratford tile very well. If you are going with a colored option, we highly recommend that you consider the Grid Tape or Grid Strips since they are color coordinated with the ProLite collection. If you would prefer to avoid the extra expense, you can of course paint your grid as well.

Greenguard
Greenguard Gold Certification offers strict certification criteria that considers safety factors to account for sensitive individuals (such as children and the elderly), and ensures that a product is acceptable for use in environments such as schools and healthcare facilities. It is referenced by both The Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) and the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Building Rating System. Click here for more information.

UL Listing/Certification
Certain ProLite ceiling tiles are approved drop-out ceiling panels that can be installed beneath fire sprinklers. When exposed to heat from a developing fire, drop-out ceiling panels soften, distort, and fall from the ceiling grid. Heat from the growing fire activates the sprinkler which, unimpeded by the panels, controls or extinguishes the fire. Click here for more information.

Waterproof
Materials used in the construction of the tile(s) are 100% waterproof.

Class A Fire Rated
Tiles have been tested in accordance with ASTM 84e and scored a Class A rating for flame spread and smoke generation.

Great looking tile

I replaced the old foam board ceiling tiles in our boardroom with the Stratford tiles. They are very lightweight and easy to handle. I had to cut round holes in many of them to accept our recessed LED wafer lights. Most of the panels are able to support the weight of wires and cords above the ceiling tiles.

Amazing

Amazing product. Super easy to instal. We skipped trim strips because we recently painted our grid and afterall it IS a dropped ceiling how nice could it actually be? The answer is gorgeous! We will be finishing it out with trim strips soon because it in no way looks like a typical dropped ceiling.

Was expecting stronger material

The materials were a little flemsey, but overall, ok

uDecor.com Darrell, thank you for taking the time to share your experience! The Stratford is the thinnest version of decorative vinyl tiles available and you're right, they are flimsy in your hand. Once installed in the grid, however, they should sit nice and sturdy for many years. It's rare to have a need for thicker tiles, but we do have options available if you decide to change directions down the road. We're also happy to help along the way, so don't hesitate to reach out to us. Thanks again for your review, and for including us in your project!

Elevates the appearance of ceiling tile

I'm not a fan of ceiling tile but sometimes it is the best solution in a basement. We replaced our old moisture-sagging tile with these and really upgraded the appearance of the basement ceiling. Light weight, waterproof, easy to cut and install, and the price is reasonable too. Shipping is fast and items are packed well.

Super duper easy!!!!

I am a 54 year old woman and I was able to get on a ladder and install these tiles. I used the previous tiles as a template to cut the right sizes. Kept the old thick tiles on the two airconditioning vent panels and then used a straight razor to cut out the triangle. It worked. Looks so much less like a fellowship hall and so much more like a movie room for our vacation rental.

Loved it so much we purchased more and did the whole downstairs

This tile is light, easy to cut and put up. It really elevated the look of our downstairs. It's a HUGE improvement from the old drop ceiling tiles that were down there. Fast shipping. Excellent customer service. Also like how they give trim and tape options for having the framing match the colored tile.

Looks Great

Installed the ceiling tiles in the theater room, they look great and everyone compliments how well it turned out. Be aware however they are very flexible, the electrician who installed the lights was concerned that they would collapse due to the weight of the LED lights. The tiles were able to support the weight however it is important to note that a heavier light may not be able to be installed.

Love!

Very easy to cut! If you have lights hung above, you need to place old tiles above. These tiles are very thin and light shines through them.

uDecor.com Hi Jodie, thank you for taking the time to share your review! We're so glad you love the look, and appreciate the pointers that you added. As long as the weight is on the grid and not the tile itself, keeping your old tiles above is a great way to keep any light from shining through. While the tiles are not translucent, the thin material can show a bit of light from behind if it's really bright (or the space below is darker).
