These thermoform tiles are made from UV Stabilized .030" thick vinyl plastic. They are designed to provide all the functionality of conventional drop ceiling tiles at a fraction of the weight. The sturdy construction makes them a breeze to install, easy to clean, stain resistant, water resistant, dust free, and eco friendly! Installation is fast and couldn't be any easier.

Designed to fit all standard 15/16" - 1" T-Bar and 9/16" T-Bar Ceiling Systems.

Most of the thermoform ceiling tiles come in two sizes, 2'x2' and 2'x4'. If you have a 2x4 grid ceiling, but prefer the look of 2x2 ceiling tiles, simply insert a 2' center T bar available online or at most local hardware stores...it's easy!

Highlights:
The Continental tile will give your room a well-traveled feel, at a fraction of the price of a world tour. It can be used in a grid or directly mounted to your ceiling. At .03" thick, it is twice as thick as many of our other grid tiles. Being that it is Class A Fire rated, it is an excellent choice for most businesses and homes. We are also proud to say that it is made in the USA.

Things to Consider:
If you are planning to directly mount these on your ceiling, the Grid Strips are a must have accessory for covering the seams between each tile.

The thickness of the Continental makes it capable of handling a bit of weight. If you'd like to keep your existing tile in the grid for acoustical/sound barrier purposes, you are able to do so without the risk of sagging.

It is more than likely that your room has partial tiles on the perimeter. Not to worry- The Continental lays nice and flat in the grid when cut to any size. Since the projection of the design is only .13", there is no unsightly gap that will show.

If your grid is already white and in good condition, it should match the white Continental tile very well. If you are going with a colored option, we highly recommend that you consider the Grid Tape or Grid Strips since they are color coordinated with the ProLite collection. If you would prefer to avoid the extra expense, you can of course paint your grid as well.

Greenguard
Greenguard Gold Certification offers strict certification criteria that considers safety factors to account for sensitive individuals (such as children and the elderly), and ensures that a product is acceptable for use in environments such as schools and healthcare facilities. It is referenced by both The Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) and the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Building Rating System. Click here for more information.

Waterproof
Materials used in the construction of the tile(s) are 100% waterproof.

Class A Fire Rated
Tiles have been tested in accordance with ASTM 84e and scored a Class A rating for flame spread and smoke generation.

Pattern not complete and not symmetrical

The pattern is not complete on any tile; the squares on the edges are cut off. Also the pattern is not symmetrical; you have to be careful when placing the tiles to make sure the pattern lines up. In a hanging ceiling, these are OK, but for gluing them to a surface, they are not easy to work with.

Hi Lance, thank you for taking the time to share your experience! You are correct, the Continental design 'stops' without completing the pattern on each side, as shown in the pictures, but it is symmetrical. This gives the effect of flowing from one tile to the next. When gluing them up, it can take extra time and care with adhesive because the tile only makes contact with the ceiling along the edges. But with our Grid Strips to cover the seam, the result is a beautiful, flowing design. If you ever have questions during your project, don't hesitate to reach out; we're here to help. Thanks again for your review, and for including us in your project!

Good border for the empire tiles

I added stretchers to the 2 x 4s turning them into 2 x 2s. This tile made a good border around the room for the Empire tiles. The drop ceiling was installed in the 1970s. It was not a good job to begin with and had sagging and other issues from the last 50 years. It took some fussing to get it all looking right. The tiles themselves went in easily.

Great product

these helped transform my kitchen ceiling. I love how bright and light it helps make the room feel. I gave it 4 stars as the self-adhesive spacers between the tiles don't stick very well.
