The Stratford Vinyl Ceiling Tile - Stone (2x4) is made from a UV Stabilized .013" thick vinyl plastic. It is designed to provide all the functionality of conventional drop ceiling tiles at a fraction of the weight. The feather-light construction makes it easy to install, easy to clean, stain resistant, water resistant, dust free, and resource friendly! Installation is fast and couldn't be any easier.

Designed to fit all standard 15/16" - 1" T-Bar Ceiling Systems. Most of the thermoform ceiling tiles come in two sizes, 2'x2' and 2'x4'.

FYI - If you have a 2x4 grid ceiling, but would prefer the look of the 2x2 ceiling tiles, simply insert a 2' center T bar available online or at most local hardware stores...it's easy!

5 Year ProShield Warranty
The ceiling tile manufacturer guarantees that your ceiling tiles will be free from manufacturing defects for a period of five years from the date of purchase. Limitations apply. See full warranty information below.

UL Listing/Certification
ProLite ceiling tiles bearing this mark are UL tested and approved drop-out ceiling panels that can be installed beneath fire sprinklers. When exposed to heat from a developing fire, drop-out ceiling panels soften, distort, and fall from the ceiling grid. Heat from the growing fire activates the sprinkler which, unimpeded by the panels, controls or extinguishes the fire.

Highlights:
The Stratford grid tile is our most popular drop ceiling tile. Our customers are continually amazed at its ability to transform the look of their room. Its classic simplicity makes it a great option for any type of space. The repeating design of this 2x4 tile gives it the unique ability to create the look of a 2x2 tile, which can be nice in smaller spaces. You will find that it is a great time saver since it will help you cover twice the space in half the time. Being that it is Class A Fire rated, it is an excellent choice for most businesses and homes. We are also proud to say that it is made in the USA.

Things to Consider:
Since the Stratford tile is not flat on the back, it is not suitable for use as a direct mount tile.

While it is only .013" thick, the embossed design gives it the rigidity and structure needed to support itself in the grid without sagging. To avoid the risk of sagging, we discourage placing any weight directly on the tile. If you would like to keep your existing acoustical tile in the grid for insulation or sound barrier purposes, we recommend that you place it above the framework so that it is not putting any weight on the Stratford.

It is more than likely that your room has partial tiles around the perimeter. Not to worry- The Stratford tile lays nice and flat in the grid when cut to any size. Since the recession of the design is only .5", the gap is unnoticeable for most applications. View product images and customer installation photos for examples.

If your grid is already white and in good condition, it should match the white Stratford tile very well. If you are going with a colored option, we highly recommend that you consider the Grid Tape or Grid Strips since they are color coordinated with the ProLite collection. If you would prefer to avoid the extra expense, you can of course paint your grid as well.

Greenguard
Greenguard Gold Certification offers strict certification criteria that considers safety factors to account for sensitive individuals (such as children and the elderly), and ensures that a product is acceptable for use in environments such as schools and healthcare facilities. It is referenced by both The Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) and the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Building Rating System. Click here for more information.

UL Listing/Certification
Certain ProLite ceiling tiles are approved drop-out ceiling panels that can be installed beneath fire sprinklers. When exposed to heat from a developing fire, drop-out ceiling panels soften, distort, and fall from the ceiling grid. Waterproof
Materials used in the construction of the tile(s) are 100% waterproof.

Class A Fire Rated
Tiles have been tested in accordance with ASTM 84e and scored a Class A rating for flame spread and smoke generation.

Easy installation

The tiles installed with ease with cuts being made simply with a scissors. It looks great and I couldn't be happier with the final result.

Awful Quality Wish I never bought extremely over priced!!!

Buyer Beware!!! I bought these tiles thinking they would be good but they're very expensive and fragile. I had to buy more and they still didn't work, honestly a huge waste of money I regret buying them.

Hi Christian, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're sorry for the headaches you have had. From our phone & email conversations, your issues are related to an incomplete installation, where your lighting fixtures are putting pressure on the tiles (they are decorative-only, and cannot bear this weight). While they are vinyl, they are surprisingly durable and will sit nice and flat for many years, as long as they are installed correctly. Hopefully my last email with suggestions was helpful, and I look forward to helping bring your ceiling to life! -Brandon M

Easy to cut, flexible

At first it was difficult to put directly under existing ceiling tile, but after a few reps, project went much faster. Downside it attracts dust due to static, but wipes off easily. Very light, easy to cut around sprinklers and end tiles. Finish look is nice and much better than painting old ones.

Hi Abdul, thank you for taking the time to share your experience! We are glad that everything went well, and that you like the look. While we don't recommend putting the weight of old tiles directly on the Stratford, many customers like yourself have made it work after some careful testing. Also, in the rare occurrence of static attracting dust, thankfully it usually is only a 1-time issue, not one that happens again. If you ever have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out, we would love to help. Thanks again for your review, and for including us in your project!

Love!

Very easy to cut! If you have lights hung above, you need to place old tiles above. These tiles are very thin and light shines through them.

Hi Jodie, thank you for taking the time to share your review! We're so glad you love the look, and appreciate the pointers that you added. As long as the weight is on the grid and not the tile itself, keeping your old tiles above is a great way to keep any light from shining through. While the tiles are not translucent, the thin material can show a bit of light from behind if it's really bright (or the space below is darker). Stratford Tile!

Let me start by saying Jason is excellent and a great guy to deal with! Now as far as the product goes, I have mixed feelings. Reason I say that is, after receiving the tile I was really shocked on how thin and flimsy it was. It was so thin that I had to actually go back and purchase Soniguard Insulation to put over the tile in order to weigh it down. Now, I already spent the money for the tile so I was not looking to spend more for the insulation. Unfortunately I had no choice since the tile is extremely flimsy. Would I do it again? Probably not.

Candace, thank you for taking the time to share your experience! The Stratford is certainly very thin, to minimize the amount of material and present the best value, but it should sit nicely in the grid once installed. Instances where it would move or not sit flat are rare and there are a few solutions. Hopefully the Soniguard was able to do the trick for your installation, as well as providing the sound insulation that you needed to cut down on sound from the space above. If you ever need assistance, our team here would be happy to help make sure that your project goes as smoothly as possible. Thanks again for your review, and for including us in your project!

AMAZING- people have no clue its a drop ceiling

This is an on going project as we are almost done with our downstairs.. Everyone who sees these is in awe at how the change the room. We now have them in our no kids living room, and bathroom. Plan on finishing the kids side with the metal ones in the next few months. These make a space transform.

New Pool Store

We bought an old building and are getting a portion of it ready to open a retail store. The ceiling tiles were stained and bowed. We flipped over the insulated tiles and installed the Stratford Vinyl tiles in Stone. What a difference. Even my little 6 year old granddaughter noticed. She said, Nice ceiling, Grandma! We hope to open our pool warehouse in the spring. I am sure we will get lots of compliments. We used these ceiling tiles in the 2x2 size in burgundy at our home in our finished basement years ago. We get so many compliments and cleaning is a breeze. I just use a dust mop to wipe off the dust. One more thing, I ordered too many tiles for the warehouse, and had no difficulty returning the unused tiles. They made it easy.
